End-User Licence Agreement
Last updated 1 September 2026 · Glancet v0.2.1 (early beta)
By installing or using Glancet ("the Software"), you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
This covers the app. Buying Glancet and using this website are covered by the terms of service; what happens to your data is in the privacy policy. Where they overlap they say the same thing.
01 — LICENCE GRANTED
Glancet is licensed to you by Hlopin Artur, trading as Glancet. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on one Mac at a time, for personal or commercial purposes.
The licence is not tied to one particular Mac. You can move it whenever you like, as often as you like: deactivate the Mac you are leaving (Settings → License → Deactivate this Mac), then activate the new one. What one licence does not cover is running Glancet on two Macs at the same time. The free trial activates nothing — it simply runs on the Mac you install it on.
02 — RESTRICTIONS
You may not:
- run Glancet on more than one Mac at a time under a single licence, or share your licence key with anyone else;
- redistribute, resell, rent, lease, or sublicense the Software;
- modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this limitation;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
03 — WHAT THE SOFTWARE DOES ON YOUR MAC
Stated plainly, so you can decide whether you are comfortable with it:
- It runs entirely on your Mac. Glancet has no accounts and no server holding your data — your sessions, prompts, project paths and settings never leave the machine. Three requests do leave it, none of them describing your work: your Claude usage figures are requested from Anthropic directly, only while you enable that feature; a once-a-day check asks glancet.io whether a newer version exists; and a single “+1” is sent once, on first launch, so installs can be counted — it carries the version number and no identifier. The last two can be switched off in Settings, and the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is recorded. Glancet listens only on
127.0.0.1(your own machine), with token authentication, and accepts no connections from the network. - It modifies your coding agents' settings files. When you connect an agent, Glancet merges its own hook entries into that agent's settings file (for example
~/.claude/settings.json) so the agent notifies Glancet about session activity. Entries belonging to other tools are left untouched, and a backup of the file is written before each change. Disconnecting the agent removes them. - It reads your Claude Code credentials, if you let it. When usage limits are enabled, Glancet reads your existing Claude Code OAuth token from your macOS Keychain and uses it to request your usage figures from Anthropic directly. The token is not stored by Glancet and is not sent anywhere except Anthropic. You can switch this off in Settings → Usage, after which Glancet does not access your credentials at all.
- It reads your session transcripts locally to display the model name and the last message of a session. That data stays on your Mac.
04 — THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The usage-limits feature communicates with Anthropic's service using your own credentials, and your use of that service is governed by your agreement with Anthropic. That interface is not documented or guaranteed by Anthropic and may change or stop working at any time. Glancet is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, or any other agent vendor. Product names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the software Glancet works with.
05 — THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE
The Software includes third-party components under their own licences. The full notice ships inside the app at Settings → About → Acknowledgements.
06 — NO WARRANTY
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your own configuration and data.
07 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL GLANCET OR ITS COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so parts of sections 06 and 07 may not apply to you.
08 — TERMINATION
This licence ends automatically if you breach it. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the Software — use Settings → About → Remove… for a clean removal, then move the app to the Trash.
09 — CHANGES
This Agreement may be updated for future versions. The version distributed with a release governs that release.
10 — GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in.
